Baltimore Album: Another 4 Blocks.

Another 4 blocks done today. I want to make 12 blocks of Baltimore Album, but I have 'base' fabric only for 8 blocks. So I must find out how to make it into 12 blocks or 9 blocks. You must be wondering why didn't I change the base fabric! ..Oh, I fell in love with this base fabric.. it's really nice old fabric that I've got from a long time ago and I want to match it with my old scraps.

Maybe.. maybe.. if you have the same base fabric as mine you will kindly send them to me! :) :) :)

When I was googling "Baltimore Album", this one shown up..
A nice song.. Baltimore by Nina Simone.

Enjoy your Saturday night, dear friends!

I Love You !

I woke up this morning. I did my routine activities such as preparing kids to go to school, checked my e-mail and Facebook account and looked at my to do list.. Oh, I have to finish up an appliqué block to complete my 7th row of Hearts for my Beautiful Life project.

My husband still in bed.. so I enjoyed my morning tea alone, and I started to sew. But it was too quiet here, so I turned on my laptop again then tried to find a nice song from Youtube.

Love by Nat King Cole .. it's really match song with my appliqué work ((:
When my husband woke up I already finished my work.. then I posted my appliqué picture on my Instagram and I wrote : No need to wait for next Valentine day to say "I love you".. and he liked it!

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore and

Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it
Love was made for me and you
**
Love was made for me and you
Love was made for me and you

Beautiful Life : Butterfly and Friends.

After five appliqué flowers for 11th row, I finished up my 10th row this morning..
Butterflies, dragonfly and ladybug will flying around my flowers.. so lovely!

The butterfly counts not month, but moments, and yet has time enough.

The Dragonfly hums its way through life, dipping its wings in the sun to shine.

The Ladybug, a humble little creature of this earth, so satisfied with his turf.
The 9th row should be piecing/patchwork blocks, but I am going to put it a side for awhile. I will make the 8th row, still appliqué blocks. I still want to enjoy my sitting and calm time and listen to my favorite songs.. (No need to rush!)

I love this song, Sting and the movie too ;)

LeMoyne Star : Big Star

Why would I want to sew fast? Do I need to speed it up?
Well, actually I like hand sewing, making applique project and sitting on my coach and listened to slow music.  But I want to challenge myself, so I chose an easy project with 24"x24" block size. I had to learn the tricks how to finish it quickly and correctly.
I made this LeMoyne Star block about 2 weeks ago, but I didn't feel to continue it.. I wasn't in the mood so I put it aside.

Yesterday, I started this project again...

Get Set !!! .. Set the right tools. Cut all the piecing fabrics or used precut fabrics.

Ready.. Sew !!! Make sure your spare bobbins loaded. Check the seam allowance, if your machine don't have a 1/4-inch foot you can put a strip of masking tape as a 1/4-inch sewing guide.

Chain sewing!.  Saves time and thread when sewing multiple units.

Speed-piecing!. Then press carefully, place an iron near the working space.

7 done, 2 more to go!

This song became the background music while I'm speeding up my work. The song tittle doesn't match but the music is great for a high speed spirit.. and I love Rob Thomas! (...)

Something came up.. Scary bee suddenly appeared at the window in front of my sewing machine. This buzzing bee scared me, I had to stop my work and run...

Today, I finish 2 more LeMoyne Star blocks and assembling the quilt.

Log Cabin : The Earth Meet The Sky.

After a long time never rained, yesterday rain brought a sense of joy. It was really a heavy rain.. but I saw the trees and the grass smiling :) .. Fresh air smelled so nice!
While enjoying the raindrops, I cut my fabric into strips. And I sew them strip by strip... and tadaaa!
The earth (brown) meet the sky (off white) through the rain, and my heart (red) is in the middle :))

Sixteen Log cabin blocks finished in the afternoon. But suddenly the electric power off ...aarghh!!
I couldn't continue my work. But then I just played with my blocks. These four designs are my favorite.
After my kids went to school this morning, I continued my unfinished work. I chose the Sawtooth Star.

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
by BJ Thomas

Raindrops keep falling on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he' got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are falling on my, head they keep falling

But there's one thing I know
The blues he sends to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Crying's not for me
Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothing's worrying me.

Mother's Day

My brother sent me an old song via YouTube. He said that he try to go back in time, remembering what everything was in the yesteryears. One of them is a song, sung by Pat Boone. He said, it once filled up the air of our home in Bedeng ( a place where we grew up), a beautiful blue wooden house, warmed with loves and cares.

I remember that we had phonograph box at the corner of our living room in our blue wooden house, we had some phonograph records, Mom loved to listen to those songs and so did we.

Time goes by so fast, we grow up with tons of loves. My brother and I are very grateful that our Mom still filling our lives with her love and care until now. We wish for her health and happiness.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM!

First Of May

First Of May - Bee Gees

When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall,

we used to love while others used to play.
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by,
some one else moved in from far away.

Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small,
and you don't ask the time of day.
But you and I, our love will never die,
but guess we'll cry come first of May.

The apple tree that grew for you and me,
I watched the apples falling one by one.
And I recall the moment of them all,
the day I kissed your cheek and you were gone.

When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall,
do do do do do do do do do...
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by,
some one else moved in from far away.

I've got the idea for these two appliques while listening "First of May" by Bee Gees..  Love that song.. I always remember it every time "May" comes.. People grow just like an apple tree!
