Sunday Morning : X-Block

Good morning, Sunday!
The rainy season started in this month. Trees look green, but the sky is always gray. I need a little colour to bright my day. I think yellow and orange will make me feel more excited.

I cut some strips and made these X-blocks...

I want to make a big quilt, and I think I need a calculator to help me to count how many strips should I cut... Ohhh, I wish I could use the EQ7.

To be continued...

Hello Sunday: How Are You?

How are you, dear friends?
Something much going on since my latest post.. Not bad things, everything are fine.. A lot of good things happened in those months.. I am just "not in to it" in blogging.. My mind got stuck, didn't know what to write on this blog.. Sorry for that :)

This morning, when I woke up, I took my laptop and.. I'm coming back again to blogging!

Let me tell you a good thing about my quilting activities lately, I had my new studio.. My beloved husband rented a house for our studio. He needs room for his working studio and our son needs a bigger space ( he is in college now).. and the best thing is I've got a space for my hobbies..

My husband liked to bring his works to my studio, we worked together with fun until late.. and sometime we just sat there and had some coffee and enjoyed the music from the Magno radio.

Soon we will have a quilting party here,  I will tell you about it later. :)

Silent Star

Moslem fasting month nearly end, next week we will celebrate Eid al fitr. We will have one full week holiday for schools and offices. I have set up a new project for this holiday... can't leave my quilting things behind, because I know I will have time before kids and hubby's late wake up in their vacation days..Lol

I'll make another quilt for my son. This year is his last grade in high school, I would encourage him to do the best so he can go to university that he wants... He is interesting in Art :)
I showed him this block and he liked it, he said that he likes the red color in the center. And he asked me to posting tutorial for that block. "Ok son, mommy will do it!" ;))

For one block of Silent Star, we need:

 1 Hourglass Block

4 Hourglass (variation) Blocks

4 Half Square Triangle Blocks

Well, I'll posting the tutorial later.. Now, I have to prepare food for breaking our fasting time, kids like savory foods and I like something sweet, must prepare both :))

Sunday Morning: November Rain

Rainy season has come, do we need an umbrella?.
We can hear the raindrops falling, it sounds like a song,
and we will sing along in our hearts.

A cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate will give us warmth.

And we can feel love is in the air that will give comfort.

 Before:
4 AM, it was too early to wake up on Sunday morning. But I couldn't go back to bed again, so I took my book and do some sketches. I finished up 3 blocks of simple applique when my kids asked for breakfast at 11 AM .. is it breakfast or lunch? :D

Sunday Morning : Karin's Mug Rug

When my daughter accompanied me on my working table at home, she asked for a project that she can do too. And she keep asking me for this and that, so I better stop doing my project for awhile..."May I borrow this, mom?".. "May I have this, mommy? .. "Can you show me how to make this one?".. after she was satisfied to ask, she began working on her project  in silence until it's finish :))

She made beautiful mug rug and pincushion, I am so proud of her... Good job, sweetie!
