Halloween - Sampler Blocks
On April, my friend and I started to make these Halloween quilt project for our sons. I made a single size and she made a queen size. Last month both of our project finished with beautiful hand quilting made by two ladies who live in small village call Wanaraja in West Java.
Mine
Lira's
It's an interesting project if we do it together. We have a plan to make another project, but we have not decided yet what project it will be. She want to make a quilt for her daughter and so do I. Maybe some cute blocks or garden theme will be nice.
Let see! ;))

Our Little Show 02
You'd like to make your first quilt, but it's all so confusing. Where to start? Then you should learn the basic for beginner!
3 points that I told my new quilting friends :
First, be realistic with your beginning projects, choose some simple blocks.
Second, don't be so critical of your work, be proud that you finished the project. That's an achievement!.
Third, ENJOY the process! :))
These pictures are from our Sampler Piecing Class.
-1) Ms. Innet - 2) Mrs. Beng - 3) Mrs. Donna - 4) Ms. Hanna - 5) Mrs. Cynthia
- 6) Mrs. Lusi -7) Mrs. Rian
It feels good to see your improvement with each block you complete. Great works, ladies!
Next, quilting time :))
For beginners, perfection is overrated.. Just do the best you can for where you are now..
Just enjoy and have fun!

Silent Star
Moslem fasting month nearly end, next week we will celebrate Eid al fitr. We will have one full week holiday for schools and offices. I have set up a new project for this holiday... can't leave my quilting things behind, because I know I will have time before kids and hubby's late wake up in their vacation days..Lol
I'll make another quilt for my son. This year is his last grade in high school, I would encourage him to do the best so he can go to university that he wants... He is interesting in Art :)
I showed him this block and he liked it, he said that he likes the red color in the center. And he asked me to posting tutorial for that block. "Ok son, mommy will do it!" ;))
For one block of Silent Star, we need:
1 Hourglass Block
4 Hourglass (variation) Blocks
4 Half Square Triangle Blocks
Well, I'll posting the tutorial later.. Now, I have to prepare food for breaking our fasting time, kids like savory foods and I like something sweet, must prepare both :))

"12 of 12" - Part 1
"12 of 12", the original patterns are 12Days of Christmas Blocks.. My mom's friend gave me the patterns about 15 years ago, I am glad I kept the file save in my file folder in a box.
Every morning, I tried to find an idea for taking picture for these blocks. Just love to do it in this way, I always set them with my applique scissors and my morning coffee/tea, and some of them with my morning activity things ;)
1. My son likes to play drum. Stroopwafel is his favorite.
2. I like embroidery. See the hoop, it is my mom's old hoop.
3. My husband is a talented animator. It was his birthday.
4. My daughter loves cereal for her breakfast. And never forget her cookies after that.
I chose all colors for the applique blocks base on colors in this fabric.. isn't it beautiful?
Yes, this beautiful fabric will be use for sashing and border.. and I will cut it soon! ;)
Sweet sweet colors as sweet as my desserts ;))
